Privacy notice
Last updated 31 August 2026
This notice explains what CarBonne does with personal information collected through this website. It covers this site only, not any separate agreement you may have with us.
What we collect
The personal information this site collects is what you type into the contact form: your name, your company or organisation, your work email address, the topic you select, and an optional message. Sending the form also briefly involves your IP address, described under “Keeping the form working” below.
We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or embedded third-party scripts, and this site sets no cookies.
Why we collect it
We use it to read and respond to your enquiry, and to continue that conversation if you want one. We do not use it for marketing lists, and we do not sell or share it for advertising.
Our legal basis
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our work. You asked us a question; we answer it.
Keeping the form working
To stop the contact form being used to send bulk email, we count recent submissions from each visitor's IP address and temporarily refuse further ones once that count is exceeded. An IP address counts as personal information in some places, including the UK and EU.
We hold that count in memory for ten minutes and it is then discarded automatically. We do not write it to a file or a database, we do not store it alongside your enquiry, and we do not use it to identify you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form available and preventing abuse.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry is delivered to us by email through Resend, our email delivery provider, and reaches our own email accounts. Our website hosting provider processes the request in the course of running the site. These providers act on our instructions and do not use your information for their own purposes.
We do not otherwise disclose enquiries, except where we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our email for as long as the conversation is useful, and we delete them when it is not. If you would like yours removed sooner, ask and we will do it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our use of it. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of them.
To make a request, email us at the address below. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Changes
If we change how this site handles personal information, we will update this notice and the date at the top of it.
